Day 27 - Queen Elizabeth (The Golden Age)

Today, class was conducted as per normal. The shopping mood in me was still strong and I really needed to satisfy its hunger. =(

As Ms Neo promised, we were going to watch a famous Oscar winning movie, Queen Elizabeth (The Golden Age) to learn more about the chapter that we are currently studying on; Leadership and Motivation. The short 15 minutes clip that we watched, depicts the war between the religious difference between the New England and Spain. Spain is trying to convince the people of New England to stick to their catholic beliefs and that Elizabeth I should not be crowned queen of England. So a war began when Spain is trying to take over England. During the invasion, Queen Elizabeth was trying to show her leadership by sticking to her conviction by not listening to her ministers. Also, during the final fight between the Spain's army and England's Army, she gave a motivational speech to her army, to make them want to fight for her.

After watching the short 15 minutes clip, we are told to write a report on how Queen Elizabeth motivates yet controlled her people. After watching the clip, we continued with class as per usual.

Reflection

After watching the short clip about how a nation's leader motivates the nation to fight for its freedom, it was very similar to a project manager has to motivates his / her team to complete the task to be on time. Therefore, this can be a real life experience for me to learn how a leader operates on a daily basis.

Day 26 - Shopping!!!

Today was a free day for us, as Ms Neo wanted us to rest after the tired climb from Wu Dang Mountain. So, we woke up at around 11am and went for breakfast first at the canteen. After breakfast, we went back to our room to start blogging on the Wu Dang Mountain trip, as we decided not to head out so early still. =)

At about 2pm, we sent our clothes for washing before going to Jiang Han Lu. I will miss the aunt who always recognizes us when we send our clothes for washing by the bucket. She will always say 'Don't worry, all of you'll clothes will be hanging together So, you can collect it together =)'. I will miss her (and the fast that, she helps me wash my clothes for an optimal price).

At 2 15pm, we went downstairs and knocked on the guys' door to see if they are going to come with us to shop. Only noor wanted to come along, the poor thing~ Hahaha!! So, we took a 30 minute bus ride and alighted at Jiang Han Lu. Jiang Han Lu is huge!!!

We too our time in window - shopping, before we stumbled and found a huge shopping mall in the middle of the shopping street. The shopping mall is called ATM, not the ATM where you withdraw cash, but the shopping mall's name. =) There are so many cheap yet products of high quality in the shops!!! The products sold here, will definitely not lose to Singapore's Far East Plaza or ION (some of my favorite shopping places)

After shopping for the whole day, we went to eat our dinner at KFC. The KFC is vastly different from the outlets that we have in Singapore. Firstly, they do not milo here, I miss my milo!!!! =( Secondly, they serve more then just chicken, but also fish and shrimp. After eating dinner, we took a cab back to our dorm to rest for the lessons for the next day. Unfortunately, I was forced by my roommates, to sweep the floor near midnight!!!! My virgin floor sweeping, lost in Wu Han!!!! =(
